BCIA - Board Certified in Neurofeedback
What is BCIA? Six facts about the certification program:
- BCIA is a non-profit organization, which are active in the field of bio- and Neurofeedbacks has established globally valid and recognized standards.
- Biofeedback certification is the only program recognized by the three major international associations: The Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB), the Biofeedback Foundation of Europe (BFE) and the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR).
- The BCIA Biofeedback certification is based on scientific findingspublished in peer-reviewed journals. BCIA is based on professional standards and ethical principles developed after a comprehensive task analysis. These are regularly updated by a task force consisting of international biofeedback experts. BCIA continuously collects, validates and evaluates data on neurofeedback-related topics. The exams are created using psychometric procedures to ensure the relevance, integrity and value of our certification program.
- BCIA requires our graduates to adhere to very strict ethical principles. Therefore, graduates must complete a three-hour ethics training course if they wish to renew their certification. The strict ethical standards are one of the many reasons why the international partners have uniformly chosen BCIA biofeedback certification.
- A directive committee of doctors, educators and researchers is responsible, which are leading the development of biofeedback. The board includes directors/presidents of the three major international associations who have been serving the development of the entire industry for decades.
- The BCIA is a member of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE), formerly the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA).
Thomas F. Feiner, BCIA BCN and Director of the Institute for EEG-Neurofeedback IFEN, offers you within the framework of Workshops the possibility of this international qualification.
