Research as well as clinical practice have revealed that ADHD, instead of being a homogeneous disorder with a single etiology, comprises different phenotypes, each of them with different electroencephalographic characteristics. The use of standard Neurofeedback protocols can be ineffective or even counterproductive in certain cases if an adequate QEEG assessment that determines the client´s phenotype and optimal protocols is not performed. The different phenotypes as well as their treatments will be discussed.
